The Diamond Barred D-959 is the result of crossing paternal fast
feathering Barred Plymouth Rock stock with maternal slow feathering
Rhode Island Red stock. Day old chicks are feather sexed. Day old
cockerel chicks are slow feathering and day old hen chicks are fast
feathering.
A black and white feathered popular breed, Lays
brown eggs.It is similar in appearance to 'coucu maran'. Suitable for free range and garden conditions.
These layers have high egg productivity (>310 brown shell eggs
at 74 weeks age).
